Prior to qualifying as a Hypnotherapist, Maire qualified as a Social Worker and later as a Primary School Teacher. She has worked as a trainer with C.A.P.P. (child abuse prevention programme) delivering courses to teachers on bullying, sexual abuse, self-esteem and confidence building issues.

Due to a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Maire retired from her job as a Head Teacher of a large Primary School in Donegal, and became interested in exploring the complexities of the mind and its power to heal. She trained with the Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy in Dublin and has been in private practice since 2009 after receiving a diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy from the Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. Maire subsequently obtained the status of Training-Analyst for Hypno-Analyist, Hypnotherapist as well as Supervisor for Hypno-Analyist and Hypnotheraists.
Maire is constantly developing her skills in the areas of Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (N.L.P.), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T.). Mindfulness, Thought Field Therapy (T.F.T.) Transpersonal Therapy, Parts and Regression Therapy, Hypnotic gastric band, Parts and Regression Hypno-Psychotherapy, Online counselling and Positive Psychology.

To date, Maire has experience in working both with children and adults. Her office is designed so that a parent/minder has full view of any child receiving treatment but may not have an audio. Children are aware that parents are in view. The office is also very private and very accessible.
